[VAPE REVIEW] The LUXE by Vaporesso is a steam engine

Vaporesso was quick to rise among the range of quality vaping brands, offering a rich range of devices for all user needs. A bit like another company by the same name, but for coffee.

Their latest release, the LUXE vaping kit, is destined for the cloud chasers among you. With a max ouput of 220w and some of the most airflow we have ever seen, the kit delivers thick, unctuous vapour. Of course, just like owning a car that tops out at 300kmph does not mean you have to drive that fast, you can vape the LUXE at 10 watts if that’s your cup of tea. But that would be missing the point of this e-cig.

The Box

vaporessoQuite heavy, the box has a well-designed aspect and comes in 7 different colours, ranging from sober and refined to garish and loud. Access to the two 18650 batteries via a removable panel is a little tricky, unfortunately.  This may be a blessing in disguise, as sticky battery casings are preferable to the cover plate falling off on its own. In terms of functionality, once you have given the device a few seconds to start up, a beautiful 2-inch colour screen switches on.

Functions are varied and numerous but easy to understand, thanks to excellent UI design, though we would have preferred a touch-screen across a whole side of the case. Indeed, you can only interact with the bottom part of the screen. To avoid pushing buttons accidentally, the screen is locked as soon as pressure on the trigger button, when vaping, is detected. A great idea.

When it comes to firmware, the LUXE box features a range of settings: of course there’s wattage, but also TC/TCR (temperature control), CCW (custom curves), SP and even the old school function: VV or variable voltage. A major plus is the time it takes for the LUXE to heat up the coils, which is microseconds, no need to blow on the coils as you wait for the temperature to rise.

The atomiser

The LUXE kit box is provided with atomiser with a name that you may have trouble pronouncing when a friend asks you casually “What kind of tank is that?”. It is called the Skrr.

The quality of the Skrr may not be reaching the levels of the box, as can be seen if you take a close look at the finish of the “Petrol” model, given the materials used are quite different. However the design is quite interesting and the vape quality stellar. The Skrr features a new type of coil that will give flashbacks to those who were fans of the Genesis: a mesh coil system. This allows for optimal heat distribution across the coil which means improved flavour, and flavour preservation even at high wattage.

vaporessoIt is in addition to all of this a practical design, with a top-fill system with a sliding panel, and easily-adjustable airflow from the bottom.

Offered at about 70€, the LUXE by Vaporesso is excellent value for money.  All you need to add are the 2 batteries and some juice. Happy vaping!
