A revolutionary new filter to eliminate vapour and smoke?

Vaping enthusiasts will already know this: e-cigarette vapour can bother people around them. While much less toxic than cigarette smoke, vapour clouds are not always welcome. To fix this, Philter has just branded two products that can eliminate e-cig vapour.

Philter Labs, an American company, has recently launched two portable filter systems for electronic (and traditional) cigarettes. Both allow you to neutralize exhaled vapour or smoke. This is a great solution to preserve air quality indoors, for example.

With the Pocket, a portable filter, you can simply exhale into the device to cancel any visible vapour. The more upmarket Phlip is a case, allowing you to carry your e-cig device and your Pocket in the same place. The first model is available for 15 dollars, while the Phlip will cost you 30.

The strong point of these new accessories

These new Philter filters have one very strong point: the life cycle is extensive. The packaging states you can exhale 200 times into the device before you need a new one. If you vape regularly, you can even sign up for a membership to have Pockets delivered quarterly for a reduced price.

There is no scientific study on the subject, so we simply cannot know the real health effects of passive e-cig vapour (preliminary results, however, tend to indicate it is harmless). Philter’s patented technology provides a precautionary measure you can take today. The main draw is to avoid passive vapour that people around you may not like.

Philter Labs indicated on their website that independent tests are underway to determine just how harmful vapour can be. In a few months, they should provide more detailed information on the subject. The ability to keep the air clean from vapour, and its potential harmful effects, is now a reality thanks to these products.
