[TEST] iStick Nowos, a solid, basic USB C device
When it comes to vaping options, there are a lot of choices, and there are always new products coming out with more and more diverse options. With the Nowos, Eleaf is getting back to the basics: a beautiful, reliable, and simple product. And the bet seems to be pay off: vaping with the Nowos is a treat, the box fits nicely in the user’s hand, and the device has a gorgeous digital display.
In terms of functionality, the only possible setting is for power (in watts), which is accessed by pressing the device’s button three times. Regulating the power is done with two buttons on the front, and users must also press a button to inhale. The audible click is nice on the ears and the thumb, which may seem minor, but how many times does a user press on the button each day? The button functions as a mini joystick with very little movement, which means the thumb (or the index finger for those who are left-handed) always falls easily on the button.
More than meets the eye
One button doesn’t make the product, however; thankfully, the strongest part of the Nowos design is its autonomy. With a capacity of 4400 mAh, the device does not require a frequent recharge. Charging is done via a USB C charge (and the charge is fast), which doesn’t give the user the sense of having to constantly plug in. Of course, a USB C cable comes with purchase of the device.
In terms of power, the box mod is capable of delivering 80W, a more than satisfactory power that will satisfy 99% of all vapers. In terms of compatibility, the device takes atomizers of up to 26mm. The price is relatively standard at 50 Euros, but we do think Eleaf could have done a better job with pricing (however, capacity must be taken into account, which is equivalent to 1.5 or 2 18650 batteries).
