[TEST] Nautilus AIO, a pod with a twist

nautilusWe recently tested the Nexus by Vaporesso here at Blog-Vape. This is the Nexus’s direct competitor: the Nautilus AIO by Aspire. They call it a pod system, but the pod is hiding traditional coils and a refillable tank. Behind the curtain you will find a round coil that screws into the tank, just like it does on the Nexus. On the other side of the coil you will find an airflow ring which can be adjusted from tight to very tight.

No surprises here, the Nautilus is a dedicated MTL atomiser. As expected, it is delivered with two types of coils, one of which is dedicated to nicotine-salt e-liquids.

In practice, you don’t really notice the difference between the two, other than the juice vents, which are larger on the nicotine salt coil (identifiable thanks to the green rubber seals). Both are measured at 1.8 ohm to be vaped in the 10 to 15w range.

Impressive range

The real strong point of the Nautilus is how long it keeps going in terms of juice and battery capacity. With 4.5 ml in the tank and a 1000 mAh integrated battery, you’ll be puffing for a long time!

We can also note Aspire’s ingenious design that features two clips to keep the “pod”, that is to say the tank and coil unit, firmly in place. It won’t be falling out anytime soon.

On the battery unit you will only find the firing button, which also switches the Nautilus on and off by pressing it five times. The LED indicator will let you know the battery charge: purple for 70% and above, blue for 20 to 70%, and orange when you are under 20%.

While it is a heavy device for its size, at 54 grams, it is however quite light in terms of cost: 28.90 €. This may seem a little expensive compared to other pod systems, but keep in mind this battery is larger than any pod and will last longer as a result.
